Bonzer Wolf retired after working for the federal government for over 30 years. Mr. Wolf began his career as a GS/2 clerk at FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. on May 17, 1976. Less than four months later Bonzer was hired as Uniformed Secret Service Officer assigned to the White House in Washington D.C.

Bonzer left the Uniformed Secret Service to finish college and worked full time for the Savannah-Chatham County Metropolitan Police Department until he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He was hired as a special agent with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security and assigned to the Diplomatic Security Service field office in Dallas, Texas in 1980. During his tenure with the Department of State, he was assigned to protective details all over the United States and in 14 foreign countries. Bonzer conducted investigations for the Department in Texas and Oklahoma until 1983 when he transferred to the Department of the Treasury, Office of Inspector General for Tax Administration (formerly known as the IRS Inspection Service).

In February 1987 Bonzer transferred to the United States Customs Service Office of Investigations in Dallas. He spent most of his career investigating financial crimes including drug cartel money laundering, fraud, smuggling and strategic violations of federal law. Mr. Wolf worked as a Customs Senior Special Agent until March 2003.

Congress with the approval of President George Bush created the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in a knee jerk reaction to the September 11, 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack. DHS is stilled referred to as the Department of Homeland Stupidity by the bureaucrats. The best day of Bonzer's 5+ year tenure with the fledgling DHS was the first day. After that, each day was worse than the day before.

The U.S. Customs Service, which was created by the second act of Congress in 1789 was unceremoniously abolished. Customs special agents were transferred in mass to an agency called the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The bureaucrats and politicians will not admit that the creation of DHS was an even bigger mistake. As a result our country is less safe from terrorism than it was prior to September 11, 2001. The agency settled on the acronym ICE, hoping to change to name to DHS Investigations and Criminal Enforcement. The FBI Director vetoed that idea in a meeting with Tom Ridge the first Secretary of DHS.

Almost 3 years after the agency was formed new badges were issued to the former INS and Customs agents of the agency now working for ICE. The new badges were inscribed with ICE Special Agent. There is no mention of Immigration or Customs or even Enforcement on the badge. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement became the answer to the trivia question; What is the ONLY law enforcement agency in the United States that does not have the official agency name displayed on their badge? The one and only ICE of course. ICE should not be confused with the International Commodity Exchange or frozen water or a brand of crack cocaine, all of which were known as ICE long before DHS decided to create a federal agency with the same name.

Former Customs & INS agents are now ICE special agents, whose mission primary duties for the last three years of my career was rounding up undocumented Hispanics working at meat & poultry processing plants in America. Immediately after Obama was elected President, ICE work site enforcement was completely shut down. Now thousands of ICE agents across the United States sit around doing little to nothing while collecting six figure incomes.

Bonzer Wolf was very fortunate to have been enrolled in the best retirement plan in the country, the Law Enforcement(6c)Civil Service Retirement System . CSRS was closed to new participants on January 1,1984 and replaced by FERS. Due of the combined benefits of the CSRS and FERS TSP (401K)program, Bonzer was able to comfortably retire at age 54. When he was hired in 1976, the mandatory retirement age was 55 due to the wishes of Congress "to maintain a young and vigorous federal law enforcement service". Bonzer's retirement "take home pay" remained the same as when he was employed. As a CSRS annuitant, Mr. Wolf receives the same annual cost of living increase as Social Security recipients. I can assure you that I am not interested in getting another job.

Retirement is better than Bonzer ever dreamed it would be. Not having to deal with bureaucratic morons on a daily basis is great! Mr. Wolf is stays busy traveling, playing poker and doing whatever he feels like doing! I enjoy spending more time with my Dad who is now 81 but still active. Bonzer Wolf decided to take a stab at a blog now that he is out of the reach of bureaucratic retaliation. FREEDOM is the greatest benefit of retirement.

The Federal government changed completely over the 32 year period. Unfortunately the changes were not for the best. Taxpayers are now being squeezed by the government more than ever. New taxes are constantly being proposed to pay for more federal programs. Our beloved Republic has moved from the model of capitalism to a socialist system based on fascist economic principles. The trillion dollar stimulus, cap & trade tax and Obama Care are all at the fore front of the Obamanation, which seems intent on destroying the Republic.

Bonzer Wolf is a member of the Libertarian Party, which may one day be a viable third party due to the failure of both the Democrat and Republican parties. But for now, we must depend on independent voters to save our country from this Obamanation.

After 32 years of government service, Bonzer knows that government at all levels is too large, too expensive, woefully inefficient, arrogant, intrusive, and downright dangerous. Democratic and Republican politicians have created the status quo and do not intend to change it. You "the people" are our country's only hope.
