TCU Kicks UT Ass

All the chips were stacked against TCU entering its super regional series finale against Texas.

The Longhorns had the momentum after thrashing the Horned Frogs on Saturday, they had the crowd and they had history clearly on their side.

But not even history could slow down the Horned Frogs on Sunday as they punched a ticket to the College World Series for the first time in program history with a thrilling triumph over the Longhorns.

TCU starting pitcher Kyle Winkler isn’t the type that likes to be outdone. After freshman left-hander Matt Purke put together a fantastic start on Friday, Winkler thought it was only fitting to do his part against Texas in the series finale. Winkler did just that by allowing just five hits in 7 2/3 shutout innings as the Horned Frogs notched their first College World Series appearance with a 4-1 triumph.

Aaron Schultz hit a two-run homer to help TCU (51-12) top the host Longhorns (50-13) and advance.

Sore loser Tea Sippers like twitter.com/lilyjung/ are crying over the loss. Too bad, so sad.  Get used to it. UT will lose their conference tomorrow. The Longhorns won't be large and in charge in the "Pack-16", like they were in the Big 12. The PAC-10 is not even changing the conference name even though its adding six Big 12 members.
