Cowboys 50th

The New York football Giants not only buried the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, they made sure there's no way they're going to rise from the grave in 2010.

After giving the Cowboys an early and much-needed spark of life, the Giants rallied for an avalanche of 31 straight points to put away their division rivals, 41-35. On top of that, they knocked Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo out, possibly for the season, with a broken left clavicle (collar bone) late in the first half.

Some of you may have forgotten about the five seasons the Cowboys spent in the abyss with quarterbacks named Quincy Carter, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Chad Hutchinson, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson and Drew Bledsoe. At age 38, Kitna is worse than everyone of them when they played for the Cowboys.

Only two garbage-time touchdowns from Dallas made the score close. The defense quit on the Coach. The nation is laughing at Jerry Jones. But as always, there is a silver lining in this blue cloud.

Dallas will rise from the ashes next season with a new coaching staff and perhaps the first pick in the 2011 draft.

Happy 50th Birthday!
